Help Desk Technician (Part-Time)

Position Summary: This position is responsible for day to day technology needs at Martha’s Table including basic troubleshooting and responding to help desk tickets.

Essential Duties:

  • Monitor and respond to phone calls, voice mails, emails and live chat as assigned.
  • Record all incoming issues using call tracking software on the computer.
  • Promptly follow up on all assigned help desk tickets and other assigned tasks.
  • Attend tech meetings to review open call tickets.
  • Provide manager with regular updates on common problems encountered and identify possible longer-term solutions/improvements to reduce future problems.
  • Change and monitor printer and printer supplies.
  • Maintain Inventory of PC supplies/equipment.
  • Work with AV Equipment for setup including projectors, televisions, microphones and sound equipment.
  • Manage, coach and mentor Intern/volunteers.
  • Train interns on MT equipment policies, and procedures.
  • Trains staff on basic Office/Google/computer skills.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work on other tasks as they arise.
  • Collaborate with others to tackle complex issues.


  • A+ Certification Required.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.


  • Basic working knowledge and experience, at least one year, with Windows 7/10 computers, Internet Explorer and Chrome, Microsoft Office.  Google apps preferred.
  • At least one year of technical service desk experience.
  • At least one year of technical support of computer hardware and software and internet connectivity issues.
  • Enthusiasm for technology and true interest in helping people achieve more through technology.
  • Ability to explain computer issues and solutions to people.
  • Must be dependable with respect to attendance and keeping assigned schedule.
  • Must exhibit professional courtesy and proper phone/email etiquette when speaking with people.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to workloads with increasing complexity.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as work well in a team environment.
