Human Resources Intern (unpaid)

Time frame: 15-20 hours/week

Martha’s Table is hiring a Data and Evaluation Intern to support our Human Resources department in the areas of recruitment, on-boarding, training, compliance and special projects.   The ideal candidate will bring their passion for social justice, with strong data analysis and communication skills. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with creation of correspondence to internal and external audiences
  • Assist with the maintenance and updates of employee personnel files and filing
  • Assist with updates and maintenance of documents on the MT intranet (org chart, forms, phone lists, etc.)
  • Assist with scheduling and preparation of  HR new hire orientations; and assemble new hire employee e-packets
  • Assist with recruitment process and updates on JAZZ systems
  • Assist HR Department with interview scheduling and on-site candidate interview process
  • Use social media platforms to post open positions; and liaise with web developer to ensure HR info is accurate
  • Support other duties as assigned 

Education:

Must be enrolled in an accredited College/University, at the junior or senior level, in the any area of study, but with an interest in the area of human resources

Experience:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using social media platforms, i.e.: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to take the initiative to collect information as needed and assist with projects in a proactive manner
  • Two years’ experience in an administrative assistant role or similar experience
