Development Operations Associate

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Management & Gift Processing

  • In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, oversees the gift processing procedure by supervising the caging service that inputs contribution information into the donor database system
  • Be the first point of contact for caging service at Martha’s Table
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of gifts, and donor acknowledgement
  • Executes all in-house gift procedures, including processing gifts and acknowledging donors
  • Responsible for generating reports and performing analysis of data from the database and pulling appropriate donor lists for mailings, segmenting as needed (i.e., Online appeals, Newsletter, Apple Society, Major Donor mailings, etc.)
  • Ensures the database is kept clean and organized, as well as any data that is pulled for use in mailings, etc.

Department Coordination

  • Prepares a variety of donor reports depending on department needs
  • Coordinates mailed materials to donors including acknowledgement letters, personalized newsletters, and other materials to current and prospective donors
  • Supports smooth functioning of donor events and donor communications to further revenue generation goals.


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.


At least two (2) years working experience, preferably in fundraising or database management.
Strong experience with complex databases (or ability to learn and manipulate them)
Manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Special Training/Skills:

Excellent writing, editing, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills and advanced ability to meet deadlines. Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as an active member of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, which includes: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in gift processing, data entry, and maintaining database/records, specific knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or similar donor management software is a plus. Superior Internet search skills, confidentiality, and ethical gathering of information. Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects, handle details, and work effectively under pressure, all with minimum supervision.
